On this New Music Friday we have a new song from teen pop star Billie Eilish. Your Power is another infectious tune with a deep message.
Earlier in the week, Eilish announced her sophomore album Happier Than Ever will be released this summer. After that she has new material for her fans including a new self-directed music video.
According to Rolling Stone, she sings about power dynamics in relationships. More specifically, when your partner takes control and advantage of you. Her lyrics and the acoustic guitar playing had me intrigued.
The video shows Eilish in a valley singing her song. Joining her was an anaconda. While she was singing her heart out, the snake was beginning to squeeze the life out of her. It was meaningful with a dash of darkness. Original, but entertaining.
Bottom line, Your Power by Billie Eilish is a hit.
