Canadian actress Italia Ricci has been cast as the lead role in the upcoming Netflix sci-fi series The Imperfects.
The 10-episode series is about three women who are turned into monsters due to an experimental gene therapy. All three of them try to hunt down the scientist responsible for this and try to make them normal again.
Ricci will be playing the role of Dr. Sydney Burke. She is a brilliant scientist looking to fix her past mistakes in both professional and ethical, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Along with Ricci the cast includes Rhianna Jagpal, Iñaki Godoy, Morgan Taylor Campbell and Rhys Nicholson.
The Designated Survivor star is an aspiring actress. First there was Chasing Life. She played April Carver, a news reporter who was battling cancer. Her character was strong, determined and inspiring.
The other role that was appealing was in season one of Supergirl. She portrayed the Silver Banshee, a meta human with the power of sonic screams. Watching her character become the DC villain was enjoyable.
Lastly, there was Designated Survivor. She was Emily Rhodes, the chief of staff to the President of the United States. Seeing her take in the political world was interesting, but watchable.
