Space Jam: A New Legacy is coming out this summer and the official trailer has just arrived.
This Warner Bros. project is a follow up from the 1996 movie Space Jam starring Michael Jordan (and the Looney Toons of course). When it combined basketball and the Looney Toons, the movie became a success. Now there will be a new NBA star joining the team.
In the trailer we see LeBron James having a talk with his son Don and it did not go well. He starts to avoid his father and then he gets captured by AI-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle). The only way that he can save his son is by a game of basketball. So then he starts to round up the troops.
Basically, the plot seems the same as the previous movie. A famous NBA star makes a deal with the devil and they play basketball. However, the trailer reveals a crossover with other shows and movies such as Game of Thrones, Iron Giant and King Kong. In addition, it is unknown how Rhythm’s team will be made, but will make the movie more interesting.
We have a combination of humor and basketball coming this summer. Now the question is: Can LeBron James come out a winner like Jordan? We’ll find out in a few months. Space Jam: A New Legacy comes out to theaters and HBO Max on July 16.
