Director James Gunn’s new project The Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released this summer and the trailer has just come out. This new trailer shows new members of the villainous group.
In 2016, The Suicide Squad was released in theaters and the group went up against Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). Now Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) will recruit the troops once again to stop a new threat. However, there will be new faces coming to the squad in this new movie.
Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Amanda Waller are returning. Some of the new faces will include Peacemaker (John Cena), Bloodsport (Idris Alba), and Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian). In addition we have Sylvester Stallone as King Shark for those intense moments.
Although the film is R-rated, it shows a lighter and more humorous side of the DC Squad. In the trailer Margot Robbie demonstrated plenty of humor for her character and King Shark made me laugh with his hand bit. In the last movie it was dark because of the characters backstory. But, in this trailer I got to see more fights and humor than dramatic backstories.
James Gunn is well known for his work in the MCU. He directed Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Both of which were successful and now he is working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. With his directing, it gives me a reason to see this DC movie.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to premiere on August 6 in both theaters and on HBO Max.
