‘The Flash” Movie Casts Sasha Calle As Supergirl

Another superhero is coming to The Flash movie. Director Andy Muschietti has announced that Sasha Calle will playing the role of Kara Danvers a.k.a. Supergirl in the upcoming DC film.

Calle is known for her role as Lola Rosales on The Young and the Restless. Now she will go from a soap opera to a superhero life. In addition, she will become the first Latina Supergirl in the DC Universe. It will be an interesting transition, but it will give people something to look forward to.

During an interview with Deadline, Muschietti had to audition many people until he found Calle. He said:

“I saw more than four hundred auditions. The talent pool was truly amazing and it was very hard to make a decision, but we finally found an actress who was destined to play this role.”

Kara Danvers is Clark Kent’s cousin and the other survivor of Krypton. Having her being introduced in The Flash would make a promising start for her in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Supergirl was first portrayed by Helen Slater in 1984. Now Melissa Benoist plays the kryptonian in the CW series Supergirl. Can Calle be Supergirl as well?

Now the question I have is: Will Superman (Henry Cavill) and Supergirl meet in the DCEU? Now that the other survivor of Krypton is coming to The Flash, fans can question if those two will meet and have a family reunion. Also, if we’ll get to see her origin story. Only time will tell.

The Flash is set to premiere on November 4, 2022. Now with Supergirl in the mix.
