Dear readers, I am pleased to inform you that you are going back to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. That’s right Harry Potter will have a live-action TV series on HBO Max.
Harry Potter has been a beloved franchise in both the movies and the novels written by J.K Rowling. Fans have enjoyed Harry’s journey through the wizarding world. The franchise also grew into other forms of entertainment such as video games, apps and theme park rides.
After the success of the first eight movies, the world expanded with the Fantastic Beasts films starring Eddie Redmayne. Now the wizard world be spread even wider.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is early in development and they’re looking for a writer and a pitch for the show. HBO Max and Warner Bros. said in a statement:
“There are no Harry Potter series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform.”
Although the plot of the series has yet to be revealed, the more likely choice would be centered around the children of Harry, Ron and Hermione. It would make sense since it was a story in Rowling’s last book Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. But, that’s just one possibility.
Even though not all the details have been revealed, the Harry Potter live-action TV series will have its fans on the edge of their seats.
