WandaVision Episode 3 Recap

The third episode of the Disney+ original series WandaVision has been released today. We’ve seen the two super-powered lovers go through two classic sitcom scenarios and in this one they take a trip in color to the 1970’s.

(WARNING: The following content contains spoilers for those who have not seen the episode yet.)

In the previous episode, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) ended with them having a baby on the way. Once they got that surprise, everything went from black and white to color. In addition, they’re now in a 70’s sitcom (like a Brady Bunch kind of vibe).

The episode begins with Wanda and Vision preparing for the arrival of their new offspring. While they were getting ready for parenthood, they made a room for the baby, decided on names and they try to keep Wanda’s powers from getting out of control. It’s this kind of comedy that you cannot get from other TV couple scenarios.

When Wanda was having her child, Geraldine (Teyonah Parris) came and helped deliver the baby while also dealing Wanda’s uncontrollable powers. After the chaos, she gave birth to twin boys. Wanda then mentioned her twin brother Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Geraldine said that he was killed by Ultron. After asking how she knew that information, both her and Vision continue to suspect that things aren’t what they seem around here.

When Vision came back, Wanda told him that Geraldine “had to run,” but instead she was cast out and surrounded by S.W.O.R.D. agents. After that, the plot thickens.

This was another episode filled with laughter and mystery. The first thing that caught my attention was the Pietro reference. Fans remember Pietro/Quicksilver from Avengers: Age of Ultron. He and Wanda started out as the bad guys helping Ultron with his mission. But, when they learned the truth behind his plan, they turned on him and helped the Avengers defeat him. However, Quicksilver sacrificed himself to save the people of Sokovia. Now, after Watching this episode I asked myself, “Could Pietro return?”

Then came the mystery behind the couple’s situation. Before Vision came back to Wanda in the end, his neighbors revealed more clues. They told him that she doesn’t belong in this town and stated, “She came here because we’re…” After that my curiosity grew.

WandaVision will have more episodes in the future and more questions about their predicament. All questions will be answered in time. But, all in all it’s a show you don’t want to miss.
