‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ Updates

Chris Hemsworth is not leaving the MCU any time soon especially since we’ll see him in Thor: Love & Thunder in 2022. More details about the movie have been revealed since the announcement.

This MCU film is currently filming in Australia and some familiar faces are returning to Asgard. New casting additions have been made as well.

First, there is Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. Fans remember Jane as Thor’s former love interest in Thor and Thor: The Dark World. However, in Thor: Ragnarok Jane did not make an appearance and her relationship with Thor ended. Now, she will come back to become The Mighty Thor.

Next, there is Tessa Thompson a.k.a. Valkyrie. She made her debut appearance on Thor: Ragnarok as the hard-drinking warrior from Asgard. After, helping the Avengers save the universe from Thanos, Thor appointed her the new ruler of New Asgard. Now, we’ll find out where she will go next.

Most recently there was news that a few members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will be in the movie. Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord, Karen Gillan will return as Nebula, Dave Bautista will come back as Drax the Destroyer and Pom Klementieff will be back as Mantis. In Avengers: Endgame, Thor left with the Guardians in space after defeating Thanos. So, it would be no surprise to see them again after that.

Jaimie Alexander will rejoin Hemsworth as Lady Sif. Fans remember her from the first two Thor movies. She also made a couple of appearances on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Dark Knight star Christian Bale will play Gorr the God Butcher. Gorr will be the main antagonist of the film. Bale is well known for his role as Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy. So having him play a villain will be engaging.

The plot and additional details about the movie have yet to be revealed. However, filming has already begun and we’ll have another MCU movie to look forward to.

Thor: Love & Thunder will scheduled to premiere in May 6, 2022.
