Peter Dinklage Joins The ‘Toxic Avenger’ Reboot

Game of Thrones (GOT) alum Peter Dinklage is set to star in another superhero project by Legendary Entertainment. This new movie will be a reboot of the 1984 action-comedy hit The Toxic Avenger.

According to Deadline, The Toxic Avenger is a man named Melvin Ferd who falls into a vat of toxic waste and transforms into a mutant freak. Afterwards he has to transition from a shunned outcast into an underdog hero. Basically, he’s Deadpool but with a different look.

After the original film debuted in 1984, it grew into a media franchise. It led to two less successful sequels, a video game and a children’s cartoon. Now people will have a chance to see it with Dinklage as the star.

Dinklage is well known for his role as Tyrion Lannister in GOT. He was a fan favorite because of his journey and the humor that he brought to the show. Whenever there was a joke, he would be responsible. Aside from GOT, Dinklage also appeared in other well known projects including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Avengers: Infinity War, My Dinner With Herve and The Boss.

Macon Blair will be the director of this movie. He is known for his directional debut of the Netflix movie I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore. The movie starred Elijah Wood and Melanie Lynskey. His first shot at directing won him positive feedback from critics and fans. In addition, he won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2017.

We’ve seen Peter Dinklage as a witty Lannister, an evil genius and a King of the Dwarves of Nidavellir. But, can he be The Toxic Avenger? Only time will tell.
