Review: ‘Clouds’

The new Disney+ original movie Clouds tells us the true story of Zach Sobiech, a teen who died of cancer at 18 after releasing his hit single to the world. This new film lives up to the hype.

Clouds starts off with Zach (Fin Argus) performing on stage at his school despite having several rounds of chemotherapy. He tries to keep being a normal high school kid. Zach even made a date with his crush Amy (Madison Iseman).

His date with Amy was canceled after a visit to the hospital. After he went through surgery, he learned that his cancer is terminal and that he has months to live.

This story of Zach Sobiech had many alluring qualities. One of them included the cast who gave memorable performances. One actor in particular was Fin Argus as the famous Zach Sobiech.

The actor had me entertained throughout the entire movie. Despite having cancer, Zach acted like any other teen. He was charismatic, kind and funny. Once I watched perform “Sexy And I Know It” by LMFAO, I did not resist laughing.

When he wasn’t being funny, I could feel the pain he went through as well. Having a limited time left on earth he would miss out on graduation, college and a future with Amy. Watching him go through all of that torment had me engaged. Basically, Argus did not disappoint me.

Next, there was the talents of Sabrina Carpenter. She is known for her music and her performances in the movie had me pleased. Hearing her sing “How To Go To Confession” had me captivated. Her vocals in that song made the scene emotional and memorable.

The music in the film was impressive, but the song that caught my attention was “Clouds.” This chart-topping song is the one that made him famous. This upbeat/melancholic tune made his story more enjoyable. It’s the kind of music that make a person feel happy and sad.

What stood out in this Disney+ original was the story. Watching Zach’s journey was inspirational. Even though he had cancer and had only a few months to live, he didn’t waste it by giving up and doing nothing. Instead he spent time with his loved ones, fell in love with his crush and recorded music. In addition, the fund that was made had over $2 million for research in order to find a cure.

Bottom line, Clouds is a sweet and touching movie that is worth seeing. This is an ideal choice for those who wish to laugh and cry.
