Actress Brie Larson is expressing her interest to play Samus Aran in the sci-fi franchise Metroid. Even though Nintendo has not made any decisions about making a movie, Larson already desires to put on the amour.
Larson is known for her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). I’ve witnessed her destroying enemy ships, ending wars and fighting against Thanos. Basically, I can see her playing another intergalactic hero.
Samus Aran is a well known video game character from Nintendo. She is a space-traveling hero who uses a powered exoskeleton to fight the Space Pirates and their leader Ridley. Samus is seen in her own games starting with Metroid in 1986. After that game, the character lived on in other video games such as the Super Smash Bros. franchise.
Larson made this announcement Twitter while sharing a piece of art by Bosslogic. It shows the actress wearing the zero suit. After that it has peaked my interest.
The Captain Marvel star recently had an interview on Gary Whitta’s quirky Animal Talking show. She said:
“I would love that so much,” said Larson. “I was Samus for Halloween two years ago⦠It was literally a $20 costume I bought off of Amazon… I was so excited about it, and so I posted a picture of it on Instagram of me and the costume and it turned into this thing of people being like ‘woah!’ [Samus] was always my character that I played inĀ Super Smash Bros.Ā and I just loved her. So that whole thing started and Iāve definitely not put a squash to that story and I definitely want to make that movie… So, Nintendo, once again, I would love to do it!”
Before Larson actually puts on the suit, Nintendo has to start making the movie. It’s been a while since a movie was made by them, but a Metroid movie would be one I would be interested in.
I believe that Brie Larson would make an exceptional Samus Aran. What are your thoughts?
