American actor Jason Momoa has done the one thing that none of us saw coming: he shaved his beard.
The 39-year-old actor hasn’t put a razor on that beard since 2012. Since that year, that beard was distinguished in many roles that Momoa played. He was recently portrayed as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the 2018 DC movie Aquaman. In addition, he was also Khal Drogo in the iconic HBO series Game of Thrones.
Momoa has made this decision because he wished to make a change. He recently posted a new video on Instagram and it was a way of promoting recycling.
“I just want to do this to bring awareness,” Momoa said in his Instagram post. “The plastics are killing our planet.”
He announced this change to help our planet by switching to infinitely recyclable aluminum. This way we use less plastic and we can protect our land and oceans.
After the video was posted, fans have had mixed reactions towards his new look. Some liked the new look and others did not like this at all. All in all, mostly people were shocked by this newly shaved face.
However, Momoa has time to grow his beard back. He will be returning for Aquaman 2 coming on Dec. 16, 2022, according to the International Business Times website.
We will now see Jason Momoa in his new role in the reboot of the fantasy/adventure film Dune coming in Nov. 20, 2020.
