Everyone knows about your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The hero of New York who looks out for the little guy and stops dangerous villains from taking over the city.
This hero has been portrayed in the media for many years and a few actors have played the web-slinger over the years. But, there are five movies that stood out.
5. Spider-Man (2002):
This Spider-Man was portrayed by Tobey Maguire and it was the first of the trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. This movie was basically about the origin of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Later he gets an arch-enemy and they battle it out.
The first movie of this trilogy was decent. It had action, drama and romance. However, it had little humor and Spider-Man is known to have a humorous quality.
4. Spider-Man 2 (2004):
Sam Raimi’s sequel takes place two years after the events of the previous film. Peter is keeping his city safe and he tries to juggle everything in his life. Plus, battling Doctor Octopus doesn’t make things easier.
Basically, it was the same deal as the previous movie. However, the chemistry between Maguire and Kristen Dunst (a.k.a. Mary Jane) grew stronger. That made it more watchable.
3. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012):
A new masked hero came to the big screen and his name was Andrew Garfield. This Marc Webb movie tells us the story about Peter Parker. Not only does he become Spider-Man, but he also searches for answers about his past.
Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man well. I’ve seen his pain, his humor and the chemistry with Emma Stone (a.k.a. Gwen Stacey) was watchable.
2. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017):
The baton was then passed to Tom Holland in this film directed by Jon Watts. Peter Parker tries to become a full Avenger, but has to learn more in order to become one.
Tom Holland’s performance was engaging. Seeing his struggles and humor in the movie was impressive. Holland is an exceptional Spider-Man, but there is one film that comes out on top.
1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018):
For this movie, it gives us an animated version of the hero. This Spider-Man was voiced by Shameik Moore and this hero was Miles Morales. This hero has powers that are different from the other Spider-Men and they all come and assist him.
This movie was a nice change from the other ones. The animation was creative because it made it look like a live-in comic book. The plot and adding other Spider-Men was entertaining. In addition, the humorous moments it provided beat out all of the rest.
So, this is my top five picks for Spider-Man movies. What is your top five?

David, Nice Job. I agree with the movies on the list but believe that #4 should be #1. Spiderman 2 with the face off with Doc Oc is the comic book spiderman brought to life.
